Greg spent more than 20 years with the East Naples Fire District, where he was elected fire commissioner for four terms before serving as the districts first community relations officer.  He has been a resident of Naples since 1959.  He’s a graduate of Naples High School and Edison College and also graduated from the CareerAcademyand Elkins Institute, both radio technical schools in Atlanta,Georgia.  Greg is a member of the East Naples Kiwanis and the East Naples Civic Association and was selected as the Florida Governor’s Point of Light recipient in 2007.  Greg has two adult children, two wonderful grandkids, and a tolerant wife, Cindy, of 39 years.  Greg says he wants to see the Freedom Memorial come to fruition because it will serve as a lasting reminder of the daily sacrifices people make to defend and preserve our freedom, safety, and way of life.  The memorial will likewise remind us all of the valiant actions everyday citizens are capable of when faced with imminent danger and insuperable odds.  May it forever stand as a tribute to the courage of the American people and ensure that our memory and gratitude of the heroes of 9/11 will never fade.
